The Sun report that Jorge Mendes is in talks with the English club

Despite football being suspended due to the coronavirus crisis, teams are still planning for next season. Real Madrid, for example, are looking for a buyer for James Rodriguez.

According to The Sun, the acclaimed agent Jorge Mendes has been in touch with Manchester United to discuss taking James to Old Trafford this summer.

Mendes hopes to convince Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to take the Colombian international in a deal worth around 40 million euros.

The relationship between Mendes and United could be key. He's worked on various deals with the club in recent years, including the January signing of Bruno Fernandes.

In addition, Mendes says James wants out of Madrid: "He has the quality to play for any team in the world. If I was him, I would be running away from Madrid."

James returned to Madrid in July after a loan spell with Bayern Munich. But his role this season has been limited, Zinedine Zidane doesn't count on him and he's ready to move on.
