The RFEF are looking at ways to complete the season

Barcelona B could be involved in play-offs to decide who is promoted to the second tier of Spanish football under a new proposal put forward by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

The RFEF are looking for ways to end the season due to the complications encountered with the Covid-19 pandemic. The latest option to be put on the table is a play-off system to decide promotion.

Barça B are in the thick of the promotion race. They are second in the table on 49 points, level with Sabadell and Cornella. Castellon are top with 50 points.

The RFEF are looking at ending the campaign in a reduced manner. The idea is for a playoff competition, one-off games, possibly with the teams also staying in quarantine during the time the games are played.

Given their position in the table, Barça would be involved.

However, there are no plans for relegation and plans are afoot to even increase the number of groups in Spain's third tier, which currently consists of four regionalised divisions.
