The two clubs co-own the right-back, who has a contract at Camp Nou until 2024

The co-ownership of Emerson Royal between Barcelona and Real Betis means both clubs have to come to an agreement regarding the player at some point. This summer looks like being the moment.

Emerson, 22, is the regular right-back for Betis and, with that position covered at Barcelona, he could become someone the Catalan club could use to bring in some cash, with clubs like Paris Saint-Germain interested.

PSG, in fact, are ready to pay around €25 million for the Brazilian, although they're not the only interest party. According to France Football, they face competition from Bayer Leverkusen, Inter Milan and AC Milan.

With his time at Betis technically up this summer, Barça must decide what to do with Emerson, keeping in mind that Betis would also be due part of any sale this summer, even after Barça have paid around €9m to take over 100 percent of his economic rights.

Sergiño Dest and Sergi Roberto are Barça's current right-backs, although the latter is out of contract in 2022 and if he doesn't renew a replacement would be needed, with Emerson top of that list.

Meanwhile. Betis are combing the market for a replacement, believing they will lose Emerson. According to Estadio Deportivo, they are tracking Allan Nyom (Getafe), Lukasz Piszczek (Borussia Dortmund), Danilo D’Ambrosio (Inter de Milán), Bruno Peres (Roma), Kiko Femenía (Watford), Elseid Hysaj (Napoli) and Youssouf Sabaly (Bordeaux).

Emerson moved to Spain 2019 from Atletico Mineiro for €12m, with Barça and Betis paying 50 percent of the fee each. Two years on loan at Betis, and with a contract at Barça until 2024, Emerson's future is a hot topic.
