Pique equals Stoichkov record for most red cards in Barça's history

The defender was sent off at half time of the win over Osasuna on Tuesday

Gerard Piqué's last game as a footballer will go down in history. He finished his career as only he could finish it: defending his team even if it cost him a red card. The Catalan center-back was sent off at half-time -- and without even coming on -- for protesting to Gil Manzano about the referee's decisions that harmed Barça in the first half at El Sadar as they came from behind with 10 men to beat Osasuna 2-1.

It was the 11th sending off of his Barça career and tied Hristo Stoichkov. The duo lead the table for most red cards in the history of FC Barcelona, according to data from MisterChip. The third is Pep Guardiola, who saw nune red cards during his career as a Barça player.

At the end of the first half, Piqué raced onto the field of play to protest to the referee about his performance to make sure he was seen, as he could have done it in private when the cameras were not on him.

He told him: "Did you see that corner you gave against us? You are the referee who has screwed us the most by far." And once dismissed, already on the way to the dressing room, he was at ease: "You are a f***ing disgrace, I s**t on your w***e mother!".
