The first act of Gerard Pique the president in Barcelona colours

The defender showed what type of boss he would be with his Manzano rant

Gerard Pique's goodbye to football as a player was unique. As he is. While on Saturday he said goodbye to Spotify Camp Nou with a teary speech and a good performance, in his final game on Tuesday he was sent off. And without even playing.

Seeing the unfair refereeing decisions his team was suffering, and a staunch defender of his club like few others, the Catalan centre-back took advantage of his last dance to tell Jesus Gil Manzano what he thought.

Gil Manzano is a collector of big name red cards (Messi, Neymar, Suarez and on Tuesday Lewandowski). He had left Barça with 10 men for an hour and, in addition, gave a corner that wasn't for the Osasuna goal and then missed a blatant foul on Marcos Alonso in the build-up.

At the end of the first half, Pique took to the pitch to protest the referee's decisions. His rant continued down the tunnel, where he was sent off, meaning he was unable to come off the bench.

"Gerard was sent off for the following reason: Once the first half ended, inside the tunnel, he spoke to me in the following terms: 'Have you seen the corner [for the Osasuna goal] you gave against us? You are the referee that has f***ed us the most by a distance,'" Manzano's report said.

"Once his dismissal had been communicated to the club delegate, he continued repeating the same expressions detailed above and had to be led into the dressing room by club staff, while he spoke to me in the following terms: 'You are a f***ing disgrace, go f**k yourself you c**t.'"

Pique could be facing a ban of up to six games, although he won't mind. This was his last match as a professional and he preferred to go out defending his team and showing the fans that if one day he is president, he will demand respect.
