The young Barcelona midfielder spoke on the radio about life with the Catalan giants

Young Barcelona midfielder Pedri Rodríguez, spoke on Cadena SER radio. The 17 year old is keeping his feet on the ground.

"I think that if you lose your humility and stop being who you are, you lose the footballer," he said. "My parents and my brother are those who give me the most advice. My brother always finds me some mistake. That's very good because you demand a lot of yourself."

On Leo Messi, he added: "You never get used to seeing the moves Messi makes. Not just Messi, all team-mates surprise you. To be able to learn from them is a luxury. To see the things Messi does... he does what he wants and when he wants to. You see him on TV and on the PlayStation and then to see him in real life makes an impression. To play with Messi is a prize that life has given me."

He spoke about how he might have joined Real Madrid but they didn't want him.

"I was on trial for a week at Madrid, they told me I wasn't good enough. they took me to an office and they told me, and I was a bit pissed off, but it served to keep me working and improving. Thanks to them, because now I'm at the team I always wanted to be at. Since I was little I've been a Barca fan."
