The 17-year-old isn't ruling out a loan move but would prefer to stay at the Camp Nou next season

Pedri was presented to the media as a new FC Barcelona player alongside Ramon Planes, promoted to the role previously undertaken by Eric Abidal. The most important question of the evening was in regards to Pedri's short-term future at the club. Would he be loaned out, train with the first team or be part of Barça's B new promotion push?

Whilst Pedri is happy to go along with the club's wishes, he's made it clear that he won't give up his "dream" move easily. "My first choice would be to stay and learn from the best." He, of course, hopes that Lionel Messi doesn't leave this summer. "I enjoy playing football. Feeling under pressure is the worst feeling a player can have but you must have the desire to play from the first day."

Planes le secunda

Planes, who had a few words for Abidal before he spoke about Pedri, was aksed by SPORT whether the youngster would stay at the Camp Nou next season or be loaned out. "It's true that we've received offers from teams in Spain and across Europe. But the club's idea is that he could be part of the first team for many years and I'm sure he will be." As for the question itself, Planes diplomatically passed it onto Ronald Koeman: "The new coach will evaluate everyone."
