FIFA will not deal with the complaint made by the Brazilian

The reason being the case has made its way to the Spanish courts

FIFA have rejected Neymar's complaint against Barcelona about an unpaid renewal bonus. The governing body argued that they cannot deal with the matter as it is now being dealt with in the Spanish courts and, for that reason, they do not want to interfere in the case.

So, Neymar's complaint must now be dealt with in the Spanish courts. The Brazil international is claiming Barça owe him up to 40 million euros for a renewal bonus agreed when he signed a new contract in 2016.

"After having been made aware that, apparently, the same matter had been submitted in parallel before different jurisdictions by the same party, the FIFA administration informed the parties to the dispute that based on the long-standing and well-established jurisprudence of FIFA’s deciding bodies, it did not seem to be in a position to continue with the investigation of the affair. The proceedings were therefore closed for formal reasons," said a FIFA spokesman.

Meanwhile, remember that Barcelona are suing Neymar for breach of contract and want him to pay back the first half of the renewal bonus, plus damages.
