Neymar was only sent off once in his four seasons with Barcelona

LALIGA | Neymar fue expulsado contra el Málaga en la temporada 16-17 / | LALIGA

Last season he was sent off as Barça were beaten at Malaga

That disimissal saw him miss the 3-2 win at the Santiago Bernabeu

Neymar's red card for Paris Saint-Germain at the weekend was not the first the Brazilian has suffered in Europ.e Last season he had to return to the dressing room early when Barcelona were beaten 2-0 by Malaga at La Rosaleda, with Sandro and Jonny scoring. On both occasions, he was dismissed for two bookings.

If against Marseille Neymar picked up a yellow card for protesting and another for pushing an opposition player, in that game against Malaga he was booked for tying his laces to stop a quick free-kick being taken and later for a foul on Llorente. With 25 minutes to go, the score was already 1-0 and his expulsion didn't help Barça's push for a comeback.

And on both occasions, he left the pitch applauding the referee's decision. Last season, that meant an additional two games were added to his ban and forced him to miss the Clasico against Real Madrid. His absence, though, did not stop Luis Enrique's side winning 2-3 with a stoppage-time winner from Lionel Messi.

Neymar's dismissal against Malaga was his first in a Barça shirt since he joined them in 2013. It was also Barça's first red card of the season and ended a run of 59 league games without a single Blaugrana player seeing red.
