The Croatian midfielder could leave Camp Nou for France next week

It could be the biggest deal of Barcelona's summer. Ivan Rakitic is more tempted by PSG with each passing day, with the French side ready to make a huge investment in the Croatian midfielder and make him one of the stars of their project. Initial contact has progressed to more formal conversations and Monday is set to be a decisive day in deciding his future.

From the off, Rakitic began the summer with one intention: to continue with Barça. The World Cup added to his value, but he didn't plan to put himself on the market. However, PSG surprisingly emerged an got to work. Rakitic was left with no other option but to weigh up a possible exit.

The player is thinking what to do and in theory next week he will have to decide whether he wants to accept PSG's offer or if he would prefer to stay at Barça, where he's a key player and one highly appreciated by his manager, Ernesto Valverde.

BUSINESS

PSG's arguments to bring in Rakitic could prove convincing for the midfielder. In Paris, he would be considered a star from the first day. He would be able to show off his talent. At Barça, his work is more focused on his huge amount of work fo the team and he's not often able to show off what he can do in the final third. That would change if he moved to Ligue 1.

In addition, at 30, he would land a huge contract. PSG's offer would be more than he earns at Camp Nou and could be a key factor for the player, who has won everything with Barcelona and was a runner-up at the World Cup with the Croatian national team.

Rakitic would benefit but so too would Barça, who would receive a huge sum of cash. Barça don't want to sell, but they could receive an offer which is too good to turn down.

MARKET

If the offer of 90 million euros arrives and the player wants to go, it could be good business for everyone and would probably end up becoming a reality. Rakitic is a key player for Valverde, but there are other options in midfield and thee's also time to sign before the transfer window closes.

In any case, Rakitic is taking some time to reflect. PSG are patiently waiting. If they have the security that he wants to move, they will make their move. Anything is possible from Monday onwards.
