Planes wants to leave Barcelona for new challenges elsewhere
It’s an intense morning at Barcelona on Thursday. After finding out Ramon Planes, the technical secretary, wants to leave for new challenges, now his exit must be formalised. Planes and Mateu Alemany, the director of football, were having a meeting early in the day.
Planes had a contract until June 30, 2022 but thinks now is the right time to go. He thinks that Xavi should be surrounded by people that he knows and trusts. This meeting is to agree his exit.
Planes was a key figure in bringing Pedri and Araujo to Barcelona. Joan Laporta will have the final say in when Planes goes. We’ll have to see who replaces him. Jordi Cruyff is the most heavily rumoured.
