The English youngster joined the club in January from Arsenal

Marcus McGuane hasn't had things easy in his first few months with Barça B. He joined in January but found a different style of football and a demanding league. In addition, things took a turn for the worse when the team's results dipped, with relegation eventually confirmed back to the third tier of Spanish football in the penultimat game of the season.

The English player, still just 19, was not able to demonstrate his quality and versatility in the middle of the pitch. But he is not of the players who is thinking of leaving the club due to the demotion to Segunda B.

In fact, it's the opposite. He's happy with the B team and the fact he was unable to play in the final games of the season, when Garcia Pimienta replaced Gerard Lopez, was due to a foot injury and a call-up to represent the England U19 side.

SUMMER

McGuane is waiting to find out if he will be called up again for this summer's U19 European Championships, which will take place in Finland between July 19 and July 29. As if logical, he would like to take part, but people close to him have said in the case he's not called up, it wouldn't be a huge blow. It would allow him to do preseason with his teammates and, hopefully, start the new campaign in form.

The teenager wants to succeed at Barça B and is happy with García Pimienta, a coach that has a good history with young players. Hopefully that will be the case with McGuane, who made his first team debut in the Catalan Super Cup in February.
