Javier Mascherano will be able to say goodbye to Barcelona in an event that's still to be decided or, at least, one which the club want to keep a secret for now until the players had given it the green light. It must be in an environment in which he feels comfortable.
The Barcelona defender has an agreement in place to move to Hebei Fortune and Barça have decided to let him leave, upon his request. It will be this week when the transfer is announced, with Mascherano set to leave after eight years at Camp Nou having joined from Liverpool in 2010.
Barça have designed a plan for him to say goodbye. It will be in the hours before the game against Espanyol. Mascherano is not a fan of these events but has understood the need to say something after so many years dressed in Blaugrana.
Mascherano could return to Camp Nou in a coaching capacity one day. He is already working on his badges and president Josep Maria Bartomeu has confirmed that he would be welcome to come back.
