Martin Braithwaite is poised to start for Barcelona against Sevilla on Friday night. It's a special stadium for him, the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, where he had his best performance since coming to Spain.
It was May 3, 2019. Braithwaite arrived with Leganes in Seville to face the Champions League place hunting side, as he tried to help his team stay in the division.
He scored and got two assists in a 3-0 win that nobody would have predicted. Lega left Seville with salvation in the bag.
He set up En-Nesryi for the first goal, scored the second himself and then set up Oscar Rodriguez for the third.
Braithwaite remembers that game with special affection. And he has another chance to shine there tonight.
