Marcos Alonso will not listen to offers as Dest departs

To tell the truth, it’s a bit of a delicate situation at the start of the season for Marcos Alonso. Given FC Barcelona's problems with financial fair play, neither he nor Íñigo Martínez, nor Iñaki Peña or Alejandro Balde (he plays with the reserve team ‘officially’) have yet been able to be registered.

In the case of the Basque centre-back, there is no problem as he is still recovering from his injury. But Marcos is perfectly fit and ready to play and has already had to watch two games from the stands (the first at Getafe from home).

Despite rumours of a possible exit, the truth is that, according to SPORT, the left-back is not considering leaving.

Neither are Xavi and the staff, logically. After the departure of Àlex Valle to Levante, Marcos is the only natural alternative in the left-back position to Alejandro Balde. This year he will focus exclusively on that position after playing more as a centre-back due to circumstances last season.

In principle, the registration of the Madrid-born player should happen this week. Dest's departure and, above all, that of Lenglet should pave the way for that.
