Man City midfielder Rodri praises Lionel Messi
The Spaniard spoke highly of the man who might be his new team-mate
Rodri Hernández, Man City's Spanish midfielder, avoided talking about Leo Messi when asked about him but did admit his admiration for the six-time Ballon d'Or winning Barcelona man.
"Of Messi I only speak with admiration that I feel for him as a figure of world football," said Rodri, who scored four goals in 52 games in his first campaign with the Citizens.
The 11-time Spain international is in the squad to face Germany and Ukraine in Stuttgart and Madrid respectively.
"The only thing we can do is prepare to the max and the only responsibility is to give everything we have to compete with the best," said Rodri. "We have a very nice project that we have to have patience with.
"We have to compete to win everything and we have a team for it, but we have to work hard. The team is really enthusiastic if you ask me."
