The Brazilian wants to play more and the club want the money from his sale

Malcom's stay at Barcelona will be brief. He joined from Bordeaux last summer for 41 million euros but has not played as much as he would have liked.

The decision to put him on the market this summer has already been taken and there's no turning back. The only thing that could save the Brazilian would be a change of manager, although that doesn't look likely at the moment.

At 22, Malcom wants to feel important to continue to develop. And the club need to bring in money  to be able to make the signings they want following a disappointing end to othe season in the Champions League and the Copa del Rey.

With Ernesto Valverde most likely to stay on, backed by Josep Maria Bartomeu, Malcom will continue to have a secondary role.

This season, he played 24 times for 1,114 minuutes, scoring four goals. The most memorable was in the Copa del Rey semifinal against Real Madrid.

More than 40 million

The ideal scenario for the club is to recover what they paid for him. Getting closer to 50 million doesn't seem possible anymore.

Malcom's known for a few months that, on a sporting level, the best thing is to move on, even though he wanted to succeed at Camp Nou. For that reason, he receptive to offers.

The Premier League is the most likely destination. China was an option in January but the player has ruled that out.

Various English clubs have sounded out his agents and it's an option the player is open to, given he feels he wouuld adapt well to the league.

A loan?

Barça still think Malcom could have a big future and, given his age, feel he will continue to improve. They have put him on the market because of their need for money.

But keeping hold of him could be an option. For that reason, a loan with an option to buy or a sale with a buyback option have not been ruled out.
