Madrid's Toni Kroos remains Mourinho's big objective at Man Utd

The English club will make another move for the German international this summer

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos is top of the list of players wanted by Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho for next season.

Despite being aware that Madrid don't want to sell, the English club will not give up and will make another effort to sign the German in the coming months, according to 'The Independent'.

Kroos, who renewed his contract until June 2022 in November, is a key part of Zinedine Zidane's side, so it will be tough for Mourinho to convince Florentino Perez to let him go.

United already tried to sign him before -- from Bayern and Real -- but have always come up short in their attempts.

The Premier League side will go big, though. Mourinho needs players of the top level to recover to ground lost by United since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.

They are currently 12 points behind Antonio Conte's Chelsea, who lead the table, and are sixth in the table. However, they are in a cluster of teams -- with Man City, Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool -- separated by just four points.
