The Uruguayan striker, who has been told he isn't needed by Koeman next season, still arrived for testing as scheduled

There were doubts whether Luis Suarez would turn up for the round of PCR testing at Barça this Sunday but the Uruguayan did appear. After being told by Ronald Koeman he wouldn't be needed next season, the striker still arrived just before 10:00 (local time) to pass his PCR test.

Koeman told Suarez he wouldn't be part of his plans this season over the telephone. This was something which upset Suarez as he felt, for all he's done for the club, he deserved a more respectful form of communication. Despite his frustration at the situation, Suarez put professionalism first and attended the training ground at his scheduled time.

Many people have suggested that Lionel Messi's decision to leave Barça was in part due to how the club have treated his close friend, Suarez in particular. Whilst the Argentine superstar has decided not to appear for the round of PCR testing, Suarez did.

Assuming that Suarez tests negative for COVID-19, he should begin preseason training on Monday whilst he waits for his future to be resolved.
