Luis Suarez, 25 hours without scoring away in the Champions League
The Uruguayan has gone over 1500 minutes playing away from home without netting
Luis Suarez’s run without goals in the Champions League away from home grew longer as he failed to score against Lyon in France.
He last netted in the competition away from home at Roma in September 2015, in the group phase. That’s nearly three and a half years - 1507 minutes.
In that time he’s been shut out at 16 grounds, Bate Borisov, Arsenal, Atlético (2015-2016); Borussia Moenchengladbach, Manchester City, Celtic, PSG, Juve (2016-2017); Sporting, Olympiacos, Juventus, Chelsea, Roma (2017-2018); and Tottenham, Inter, Lyon this year.
Barca have also seen Suarez struggle at Camp Nou in Europe. He hasn’t scored there this season in the Champions League. And has just one in his last 17 now in the competition home and away.
That came in the 4-1 win over Roma last year which the Italian side came back from to go through.
He has also not scored in his last five. 451 minutes without netting, seven and a half hours. Against Sevilla and Real Madrid, in the next matches, would be a good time to end that.
