The Catalans have work to do in the second leg next month

Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde felt his side's performance in the goalles draw with Lyon was positive but he was left frustrated at a failure to score.

The two teams will meet again in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 tie at Camp Nou next month.

"We are strong at home, but 0-0 is a dangerous result for the second leg," the Barça boss said, although he's confident the support of the supporters will push his team through. "You have to win at home and the fans will have to push us, because everything's to be decided."

Valverde praised his players' performance at the OL Stadium: "In terms of our play and our implication from the beginning of the game, the impression is really good, even though we hoped for more because we did enough, but we haven't won."

Despite Barça's attacking intent, with 25 shots but just five on target, Valverde said that "it's a statistic that says a little about what happened, because you really value is getting in the box, what interests us is creating chances which give us results."

Finally, he highlighted Lyon's quality: "They have not lost a game in the Champions League. Plus, it's not easy to play away from home in this competition. That's two wins and two draw (away in Europe) this season."
