Liga president Javier Tebas says Valladolid pitch will be punished
The Liga chief tweeted about the disgraceful state of affairs after Barca's 1-0 win
La Liga president Javier Tebas says Valladolid will be punished for the shocking and lamentable state of their pitch in Barcelona’s 1-0 win on Saturday night.
Holes appeared everywhere from the first few minutes, with players finding it hard to keep their footing in key moments or even control the ball at times.
“The pitch at the Jose Zorrilla did not meet the minimum criteria demanded for a competition like La Liga,” said Tebas in a tweet. “Obviously a disciplinary file will be opened.”
Barca defender Gerard Pique also raged against the state of the pitch.
“They want to take players to play in the United States, but the state of the grass here was a disgrace,” said Pique. “Players were running the risk of injury. It was lamentable and I hope they investigate the matter.”
El estado del césped del José Zorrilla no reunía las condiciones mínimas exigidas para una COMPETICIÓN como @LaLiga, evidentemente se procede a abrir el expediente disciplinario correspondiente para depurar las responsabilidades.
