Rabiot will not leave the Ligue 1 champions this summer according to the French paper

French newspaper L'Equipe claimed on Saturday that Barcelona have no chance of landing Paris Saint-Germain's Adrien Rabiot, despite have an agreement in principle with the midfielder.

"Rabiot has almost no chance of leaving PSG," reads the headline in L'Equipe in regards to Rabiot's future, explaining that new coach Thomas Tuchel has changed his mind and now wants to keep hold of him.

They add that PSG are ready to offer a new contract to Rabiot, too, who is into the final 12 months of his deal with the Ligue 1 champions.

Rabiot has been weighing up his future, knowing that he's in a strong position because as of the first day of 2019 he will be able to negotiate with other clubs.

That's the bullet which Rabiot has to ensure he gets a better deal out of the French club this summer to extend his stay.

He started 27 league games last season and eight Champions League matches but will only stay at the club if he feels Tuchel backs him and will play him regularly.

Former Borussia Dortmund coach Tuchel took over from Unai Emery at the end of last season, with Emery now in charge of Arsenal.
