The young forward signed a new contract until 2026 on Monday

Lamine Yamal's path at Barcelona continues. It has only just begun. The young Barça star signed his new contract until 2026 at the offices of the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Monday afternoon. Not only that, but he has also agreed to extend his contract until 2030 when he reaches the age of 18. For now, he has renewed for the maximum amount of time allowed for his age.

Joan Laporta, Deco and Rafa Yuste were present at the signing ceremony. It was a day to remember at the club for a boy who is aiming very high. He is already a regular in Xavi Hernández's squads at just 16 years of age.

Lamine spoke to the club's channels and was very happy to continue to be linked to the club of his life: "It's been a long road here at La Masia, it's a pride for me and a dream to be able to stay three more years at the club of my life, I'm very happy and I hope I can make the most of my time at Barça."

Happy and ambitious

Asked about his best moments at the club, the player from Rocafonda picked two moments: "When I arrived at the club and when I made my debut with the first team."

His debut under Xavi came when he was just 15 years old and now, at the age of 16, he continues to live at La Masia: "It's a pride to see how children continue to arrive with enthusiasm, it's a dream for all of us to be here."

As for the aspirations and challenges he has yet to achieve, Lamine is clear: "My dream is to win many titles with Barça."
