Barça announced the deal which was signed officially on Monday

FC Barcelona officially announced on Monday the renewal of Lamine Yamal's contract until 30 June 2026. The club and the player had already agreed the deal in the summer, prior to the first team's tour of the United States in which the academy player took part under the orders of Xavi Hernández, but it is only now that president Joan Laporta and the player formally signed the contract.

Barça are aware of the quality and future projection of Lamine Yamal. That is why, despite his youth, they have taken care of him in every way. Firstly, by giving him the option of continuing to grow as a player under Xavi in the first team. And then, by ensuring his continuity with a first professional contract as soon as he turned 16 on 13 July. His debut in an official match had already taken place months before, against Real Betis in the 2022/23 season.

In this way, the Catalan club ensure the continuity of Lamine with an armoured contract with a clause of €1 billion, on a par with those of other talents of the future of the squad such as Gavi and Pedri.

Agreement until 2030

But the most important aspect of Lamine Yamal's renewal is that Barcelona and the player reached a fundamental compromise by the time the young striker turns 18. In 2025 he will sign a new contract that will run until 30 June 2030.

The role of Barça's Director of Football, Deco de Souza, has been key, given his good relationship with the player's agent Jorge Mendes, as well as with Sergio Alves, the player's trusted agent.

Lamine Yamal's football explosion has not only opened the doors to Barça's first team. The Spanish coach Luis de la Fuente already counted on him for the previous call-up to the senior national team in September. The Barça striker made his debut in the match against Georgia (1-7) and was a starter in the match against Cyprus (6-0); and he is expected to be included in the next list for the October break with the matches Spain-Scotland (12 October) and Norway-Spain (15 October).
