Koeman has assured Griezmann he will have an important role next season
According to 'L'Equipe' the forward will be handed a more central role at Barça, similar to one he had at Atletico
Antoine Griezmann has already spoken with Ronald Koeman and it appears as if he'll have a much more important role at FC Barcelona next season. According to 'L'Equipe', the new manager will put Griezmann back in a more comfortable, central position following the eventual departure of Luis Suarez.
Koeman told Antoine: "What you did at Atletico, you'll do for Barça."
Griezmann knows he will be playing as the main striker, or just behind a new number 9, which wasn't possible in the 4-3-3 system used last season.
The French forward was often pushed onto the left wing, a position he isn't comfortable with, and sometimes had to make do with a place on the bench.
Quique Setién did move him more centrally towards the end of this season with Messi just behind Griezmann and Suarez. As the world awaits developments on Leo's situation, Griezmann will be handed a more significant role going forward.
