Ajax are far from pleased with what Juve have offered so far and talks haven't progressed in days

It isn't quite going to plan for Juventus in their pursuit of Matthijs de Ligt. Despite agreeing on terms with the popular defender, they've been unable to do the same with his current club Ajax. The €50m offer was rejected out of hand and talks have stalled between the two clubs, according to 'De Telegraaf'.

The problem stems from a 'pact' made between de Ligt and Ajax last summer. They agreed that should an offer of €45m-€50m come in for his services, the player would be free to leave. However, Ajax believe that fee is no longer a fair representation of de Ligt's current value.

This pact took place with the player, his father and one of his lawyers, but was never actually put in writing.

"There's an agreement between Matthijs and Ajax," Mino Raiola told 'De Telegraaf'. "A court cause is out of the question for us."

De Ligt is expected to join up for preseason training with Ajax this Monday although he hopes not to travel to Austria on Saturday.
