Gazzetta: De Ligt calls Juventus to confirm he wants to play for them

Matthijs de Ligt spoke with Maurizio Sarri to let him know, despite the club's failing to agree a price, that he wants to play for Juventus

Ajax's young captain, Matthijs de Ligt, has called Juventus to let them know he still wants to join the club. The two sides have yet to agree terms on the cost of a deal but de Ligt spoke with Maurizio Sarri to confirm his commitment to the move. This is according to 'La Gazzetta dello Sport', as the defender looks to secure his summer transfer to Turin.

De Ligt called the new head coach to find out the plans for him next season. Sarri was reportedly surprised by the call and explained what he expected from the defender once a deal is finally agreed.

Juventus and Ajax are still arguing over a fee. The Italian giants want to get de Ligt for around €65m rather than the €75m Ajax are demanding.
