The player's agent, Mino Raiola, will speak with Ajax in the next few days to let them know their decision

Juventus are very close to completing the transfer of Matthijs de Ligt. The young centre back has been the focus of attention for many Europe sides but it appears his future will pass through Italy rather than France or Spain.

According to 'Tuttosport', Juventus have agreed personal terms with the player and thanks to the advice of his agent, Mino Raiola, de Ligt will earn around €10m per season.

Barça have been out of the running for de Ligt's signature for a while now after the sums bandied about were far superior to the terms they had offered. The club hoped the chance to earn a respectable wage and play alongside Frenkie de Jong and Lionel Messi would be enough.

EUROPE'S MOST WANTED

De Ligt turned down proposals from Manchester United, Barcelona and now PSG, and the only ones left are Juventus. The only thing left now is for the Italian giants to negotiate the transfer fee with Ajax, which is Mino Raiola's next task.

Ajax want around €70m-€80m whilst Juventus have so far been prepared to offer up €67m plus €12m in bonuses.

De Ligt would become Juventus' star signing for the 2019/20 season. After bringing in Cristiano Ronaldo last year, the global image of Juventus is increasing.

One option Juventus could offer de Ligt is to insert a buyout clause of between €120m-€150m.
