Jordi Alba denounces a campaign against him after Kovacic insult

The left-back was key on the pitch on Saturday and then had some strong words after, too 

Barcelona defender Jordi Alba has claimed there is a campaign against him after starring in his side's win over Osasuna. 

Alba, who created two goals in Pamplona, and then complained in the mixed zone after a story which came out about him after the Clasico.

The left-back feels the media are treating him unfairly after he was criticised in the week for words aimed at Mateo Kovacic in during the draw with Real Madrid.

Footage showed him calling the midifelder "stupid" and telling him to "learn Spanish". 

"They’re things that are said during a game," Alba said. "They always [get reported] in the same way, the same as the game against Leganes.

"People say things to me, too. It’s been a while now with just reports about what I say.

"And I know where [the reports] come from. It does damage for no reason.

"They always go after me. I hope that everyone who has spoken ill of me speaks well of me after today’s game."

Meanwhile, Alba also praised his understanding with Messi and urged him to renew his contract at Camp Nou.

"Since I’ve been here, Leo sees passes like no-one else and he always looks for me," he said. "The two assists I gave were important but the first was thanks to Leo.

"I hope he renews. It will be good for us and also for him. We’re superior with him. We haven’t spoke with Leo about it, but I hope he stays."
