Joan Laporta's message to SPORT after the UCL knock out
The new chief gave a positive statement after the 1-1 draw in Paris
Barcelona president Joan Laporta spoke to SPORT after the team were eliminated from the Champions League by PSG at the Parque des Princes.
Laporta wanted to send a positive message after the 1-1 draw.
“We have a team, they did us proud, we defended our dignity, we deserved to win and we deserved to go through,” said Laporta.
Despite winning the elections last Sunday, Laporta is not yet officially president. La Liga must approve him first after he presents his financial guarantees to them.
Despite that, current president of the board on an interim basis, Carles Tusquets, wanted to invite Laporta on the trip along with his assistant Rafa Yuste.
