The defender is having a fine season with Nice and attracting interest across Europe

Jean-Clair Todibo could bring FC Barcelona a decent wedge of money if the expectations that have been generated around the Nice centre-back are fulfilled.

According to different French media, such as 'Footmercato', the good performance of the new France international has attracted the attention of different clubs, starting with Ligue 1 giants PSG, against whom he played a few days ago.

According to these reports, the Parisian club's head of sport, Luis Campos, is closely monitoring the performance of the Nice defender, who is proving to be a reliable and consistent performer this season.

Nice coach Didier Digard has stuck with Todibo except when he was injured (he has played 3,317 minutes in 38 games in all competitions), and the ex-Blaugrana defender himself admits that after wasting his first years at Barça, Schalke and Benfica, he has now found the balance to focus on football and give his best: "I stagnated a bit in my first three years as a professional footballer. I'm trying to make up for the delay as best I can and so far it's going well," explained Jean-Clair, adding: "I've calmed down. All this has forged my character and my mentality and I'm very proud of it."

In addition to Luis Campos, several clubs in England and Italy are also following his development, which is why PSG are seriously considering going on the offensive in the coming weeks, as Todibo represents the new philosophy they want to implement at the club: he is French, a young international and has the capacity to continue to grow as a player.

And it is in this context that Barça could indirectly make some incomings, as when they let Todibo go, they included a clause that would allow them to take 20% of a future transfer if the defender left Nice.

Barça already made €8.5 million in the 2021 summer transfer window, and currently the market value of Todibo's contract is around €30 million, per Transfermarkt. This means that a sale of Jean-Clair to PSG or another club would net Barça around €6 million.
