Javier Mascherano's Barcelona farewell is confirmed for Wednesday
The club have arranged a farewell event for this week
Mascherano is set to move to Chinese side Hebei Fortune
Barcelona have confirmed that Javier Mascherano will leave the club this month, with a close to Hebei Fortune lined up.
The Catalans did not confirm Mascherano's move to the Chinese Super League club, although they did confirm he is leaving Camp Nou.
Mascherano, 33, joined Barça from Liverpool in 2010 and has won 17 titles with the club and made over 300 appearances.
There will be a goodbye event on Wednesday and he will then say farewell to the supporters before Thursday's game against Espanyol in the Copa del Rey.
"Javier Mascherano is leaving FC Barcelona after seven and a half seasons," the club said in a statement on Tuesday.
"The Argentine will be receiving an institutional farewell from the club on Wednesday at 11.00am CET in the Auditori 1899, at an event that will be streamed on the club website."
