Andres Iniesta injured his hamstring last weekend

He hopes to be fit to face Chelsea next Wednesday

Barcelona remain hopeful that Andres Iniesta will be available for the Champions League clash with Chelsea on Wednesday at Camp Nou.

Chelsea arrive in Catalonia for the second leg of the round of 16 tie with a 1-1 draw from the first meeting between the two sides at Stamford Bridge last month.

Iniesta injured his hamstring against Atletico Madrid last weekend and has trained alone this week, not making the trip to Malaga with his teammates on Saturday.

Since the moment he was taken off against Atletico, the alarm bells have been ringing that Iniesta -- a key part of Barça's midfield -- will not be fit for the game against Chelsea.

Ernesto Valverde said on Friday it's "too soon" to know if he will have his captain available but Iniesta has posted an optimistic message on social media.

"Closer every day," he wrote, in a message which neither confirms or denies if he's going to make Wednesday's game.
