Impressive Riqui Puig demanding an opportunity
The midfielder was the team's best player in the defeat by Juventus off the bench
You have to be brave to read poetry in times of distress. Or, be Riqui Puig in times of ostracism at Barcelona. Ronald Koeman's side are suffering but when Riqui Puig appears, Barcelona play better and he can give fans hope for optimism in the future.
Juventus were far better than Barca, the Catalans were scared, admitted Koeman. The Italians went three goals to the good. They did what they needed and from there defended the result. Only Leo Messi came close, with various shots at goal.
Without allies on the pitch, only Riqui Puig's entry gave Leo any help. He loves the club and is fighting for the pride of wearing the badge. Each opportunity he is given he takes advantage of as if it were golden. He knows Koeman doesn't believe in him - he's never started Riqui.
Against Juve he only had 24 minutes at 3-0 down. But he gave 40 passes in that time and created two chances. More than others did.
His insistence and delivery allowed Barca fans to sleep thinking all hope is not lost. Riqui Puigi invites optimism. He, Alena, Ansu, Pedri and Araujo have to be the future of Barca.
