Lionel Messi was subject to a brutal tackle by Diego Carlos, the Sevilla defender during the draw on Friday. Messi, in training on Sunday, visibly showed the damage he had been caused by the ugly foul. Luckily for Messi it needed a few stitches and not anything more.
Messi was able to train normally despite the injury. Sergi Roberto and Frenkie de Jong were not in the session because of injuries. They will not be able to face Athletic Bilbao on Tuesday. Here you can see the damage done to Messi:
Messi, angry, shoved Carlos after the incident and Madrid media cried out for him to be sent off, ignoring what had happened to cause it.
