Athletic have gone 17 league games without a win at Camp Nou
Athletic Club will visit Camp Nou on Tuesday with the objective of beating Barcelona there for the first time in 17 games. They have suffered 14 defeats and earned three draws.
Their last win at Camp Nou came on Nov 24, 2001, with a 2-1 win. 18 years ago. Santi Ezquerro scored the winner in a 2-1 victory after goals from Urzaiz and Rivaldo.
They drew 2-2 in the 2002-03 season (Saviola, Overmars / Ezquerro, Yeste), and 1-1 in 2003-04 (Kluivert / Gurpegui).
After that it's been 14 defeats in a row (!) with 40 goals against and six for. The worst was the 6-0 in 2015-16, when Gorka Iraizoz was sent off after four minutes and Luis Suarez hit a hat-trick, with Messi, Rakitic and Neymar also netting.
Other big wins were the 5-1 in 2012-13 (Pique, Amorebieta og, Adriano, Fabegas and Messi / Ibai Gomez) and the 4-1 from 2009-10 (Bojan 2, Jeffren, Messi / Susaeta) and the 3-0 in 2006-07 (Amorebieta og, Xavi, Eto'o) and 2016-17 (Alcacer, Messi, Aleix Vidal).
