The midfielder was the victim of a horror tackle in the first half of a friendly against Honduras and left the pitch on a stretcher

Arthur Melo was forced to leave the pitch after just half an hour after being on the receiving end of a horror challenge by Honduras' Quioto. The opposition player was subsequently sent off for the challenge.

The Barça midfielder couldn't continue and was taken off on a stretcher.

Sources close to Arthur have told SPORT that the player immediately put ice on the knee as they looked to bring down the inflamation from the impact of the challenge.

According to 'Rede Globo', the medical team at Brazil don't consider it a serious injury. "It's just a knock." They remain hopeful he'll be available for the Copa America which starts next Friday for Brazil.

In the next few hours Arthur will travel to a local hospital to have a scan on his knee and so there's a better diagnosis on the damage suffered.
