There could be 5,000 fans inside the stadium for the Champions League game

The General Secretary for Sport in Catalonia, Gerard Figueras, says that Dec. 8, when Barcelona host Juventus in the Champions League, could see up to 5,000 fans allowed back in Camp Nou.

"The club spoke gradually bringing fans back and we said it's best to analyse it game by game," Figueras told SPORT. "The initial numbers could be between 3,000 and 5,000 at Camp Nou. And according to the epidemiological situation, we will decide if we can scale that up.

"Against Juve on Dec. 8, as long as the epidemiological situation hasn't got worse, I think the protocols will be in place for there to be fans."

Figueras also spoke about the vote of no confidence against president Josep Maria Bartomeu and said that Nov. 1 and Nov. 2 would have been fine to hold it. The club want to delay it until later in November.

"What we told Barcelona is that on the dates initially planned, Nov. 1and Nov. 2, with the health situation as it is reight now, we had no problem with them holding the vote as long as they applied certain recommendations," he said.

"They told us they didn't have enough time to employ all the protocol for those dates, that they needed 15 days. The government won't choose the new date, but we have to look at if we can authorise different dates."
