The Dutch midfielder arrived in Catalonia on Thursday as he prepares for his new life

Frenkie de Jong has arrived in Barcelona. The Dutch midfielder flew in on a private plane on Thursday, accompanies by his agent, his girlfriend and his family.

Barça announced De Jong's arrival in the Catalan capital on social media with a video of the player smiling and speaking the local language: "Ja estic aqui (Now I am here)," he said. "Força Barça."

De Jong agreed a move to Barça in January when the Blaugrana struck a deal worth 75 million euros with Ajax and he will be officially presented at Camp Nou on Friday in front of fans and the media.

"I am really happy to finally be here," De Jong said. "Since I was little it was a dream to play at Barça and now I am here. It's fantastic. I'm looking forward to stepping on to the Camp Nou pitch for the first time. I can't wait."

De Jong arrives in Barcelona following some time off. Thanks to the posts on social media from his girlfriend, Mikky Kiemeney, we've been able to see how he has spent his time since representing the Netherlands in the Nations League in June.

Tanzania, the Seychelles and Turkey have been his destinations of choice before finally arriving in Barcelona to begin his new life.

De Jong will be officially presented on Friday night at Camp Nou and will speak in a press conference alongside president Josep Maria Bartomeu and sporting director Eric Abidal.
