FC Barcelona are the star attraction as they arrive in Japan
The full squad were in attendance for the presentation of the Rakuten Cup
FC Barcelona were the stars of the show as they arrived in Tokyo ahead of their Japan Tour. The major media outlets were invited to the luxurious 'Intercontinental Hotel' to get their first glimpses of Ernesto Valverde and his first team squad, alongside the club's president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
Chelsea, who are Barça's rivals on Tuesday, had Frank Lampard amongst their representatives.
Big in Japan
Rakuten's president Mickey Mikitani hailed the arrival of Barcça and said the whole country was excited to watch their matches.
Bartomeu and the team captains also spoke. Gerard Pique got the local crowd excited when he said wanted to visit the city alongside his teammates who are all desperate to learn more about Tokyo. "Although what we want most is to win the trophy."
Hiroki Abe
Barça showed off their three first-team squad signings - Griezmann, Neto and De Jong - but there was special attention to Japanese star Hiroki Abe, who will form part of Barça B next season.
Another one of the most popular players amongst the crowd was Ousmane Dembele, who has been told he won't be sold this summer and the club has big plans for him.
