Exclusive: Barcelona players' preference for the Champions League draw

Only one of the five potential rivals would have the Barça squad worried about elimination

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique usually organises a sweepstake among the players when the Champions League draw comes around.

Monday is unlikely to be an exception, so Gerard is likely to have a busy day with training, sweepstakes, draws, eating and travelling to Qatar...

There's a certain amount of resignation among the players when the last 16 draw comes around. Recent seasons have seen them paired with Arsenal, Manchester City (twice) and AC Milan.

In any case, this year there's only one team they don't want: Carlo Ancelotti's Bayern Munich. The rest of the rivals, starting with PSG, and followed by Benfica, Bayer Leverkusen and Porto, are all considered manageable.

If they had to pick one, it would be Porto. It would be the perfect tie for the Blaugrana. It's the shortest trip and one which gives them the best chance of making the quarter-final. Also, it would bring them up against Iker Casillas, the ex-Real Madrid goalkeeper, adding an element of morbo to the second leg at Camp Nou.

From there, the demands increase, but not even PSG are seen as a rival or enormous quality at the moment in comparison to recent seasons. They have dropped points in France and finished second to Arsenal in the group.

Bayern, though, do concern the Barça players. Despite some problems under Ancelotti, they're still leading the Bundesliga and it would be a tie which would take its toll on both teams, mentally and physically.

Luis Enrique, based on previous draws, has already joked that he expects to be handed one of the tougher draws.

On Monday, at midday, we'll find out if Luis Enrique is right.
