Ernesto Valverde responds to Luis Suarez

The coach was questioned by former Barca player Luis Suarez at the weekend

Ernesto Valverde was asked about Luis Suarez's words at the weekend. The old Luis Suarez, formerly of Barca and Inter, the only Spanish Ballon d'Or winner, who criticised the coach's use of Sergio Busquets. Suarez was fierce and said "if in my era they did to me what he's doing to him (Busi), I'd tell the president that I was leaving."

Valverde responded. "If I take him off a lot it's because he's a starter. As a substitute I don't usually sub him". Valverde was saying that Busquets starts a lot of games and that he doesn't understand the criticism.

"All opinions seem to me fine and reasonable but I have to take decisions in function of what's best for the team. If I leave him on the pitch and he's sent off, there will be other opinions. It's impossible to keep everyone happy."
