Ernesto Valverde achieves his best run of wins in La Liga
The coach has got eight wins in a row after beating Girona 2-0
Barcelona lead La Liga by five points still thanks to their win at Girona. Their 2-0 triumph at Montilivi is the eighth consecutive win in a row.
After drawing at the Wanda Metropolitano against Atletico Madrid, they have beaten Villarreal, Espanyol, Levante, Celta, Getafe, Eibar, Leganés and Girona. In total 24 points which has helped the champions build their title defence.
The two best runs under Valverde until now were last season. He won his first seven league games against Betis, Alavés, Espanyol, Getafe, Eibar, Girona and Las Palmas. That run ended with a 1-1 draw at Atletico Madrid.
Then they achieved another seven wins between weeks 15 and 21. This time they beat Villarreal, Deportivo, Madrid, Levante, Real Sociedad, Betis and Alavés.
