FC Barcelona's French left-back Lucas Digne evaluated his teammates Samuel Umtiti and Ousmane Dembele in an interview with television programme 'beIn Bleus' which is speaking to players that could be picked for the France squad for the World Cup.

Digne highlighted the two players' capacity for progress and their contributions to Ernesto Valverde's side.

WORLD CUP PROMISE

Digne spoke about some important moments in his career, such as the day when his father took him on to the pitch when he was a boy.

He also said his role model is his France teammate Debuchy, and that he believes France can win the World Cup, and if they do he will get a new tattoo. "I've got some space for it here," Digne said, pointing to his righ arm.

UMTITI, PROVEN QUALITY

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the interview from a Barcelona point of view were his reflections on Samuel Umtiti and Ousmane Dembele.

"Umtiti has always had a lot of potential. He showed it at Lyon and he has kept it up at Barça too, showing his quality," Digne said.

DEMBELE'S TEST

On Ousmane Dembele, Digne said the forwad "had an injury which conditioned his start to the season and meant he was a little isolated from the group" but since then the former Borussia Dortmund player "has progressed enormously. Against Chelsea there was an action which surprised me, his tackle on Marcos Alonso when the game was about to end," said Digne, a demonstration that Dembele is turning into the player Ernesto Valverde wants him to be.
