Diego Maradona's tremendous message to Lionel Messi
The pair coincided in London at the FIFA The Best awards gala
Maradona was in charge of handing out the best player prize, which went to Cristiano
Leo Messi and Diego Armando Maradona met at the FIFA The Best awards gala in London on Monday night. Barcelona star Messi finished second in the award for best player of the year, while Maradona was in charge of presenting that award along with Ronaldo.
Messi and Maradona showed a good relationship throughout the gala, despite the latter criticising the former, to which Messi never responded.
"I will go to say hello to him, to tell him I love him a lot," Maradona said at his arrival.
After the gala Maradona wrote a message on Instagram about Messi.
"This is one of the happiest days I've had since I left the national team, to meet with a man who will never forget my team-talks, I am very lucky," wrote Maradona on instagram with a picture of Messi.
