Buffon, Alves, Sergio Ramos, Bonucci, Marcelo, Modric, Kroos, Iniesta, Messi, Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo. That is the best XI of the year chosen by footballers, a spectacular team with an attacking trident that any club would love to have.
Five Real Madrid players made it into the side and three from Barcelona, although Neymar moved to PSG in August, to play with another ex Barcelona man, Dani Alves, who also makes the cut.
Juventus had three with Buffon joining Alves and Bonucci, although the latter is now at AC Milan, and Alves at PSG, of course.
The players took a photo with actor Idris Elba, who was the master of ceremonies, and took selfies with him.
