The Cup champions came on to the pitch before Sunday's game to the sight of Deportivo La Coruna's players forming a guard of honour on the pitch, saluting each player for winning the Copa del Rey final last week by hammering Sevilla 5-0.
With Lionel Messi at the front, Ernesto Valverde's side walked out onto the pitch and saluted the Depor players, who were accompanied by children mascots who had the chance to shake the Argentine's hand and his teammates, who were wearing their red wine away kit.
Deportivo's coach Clarence Seedorf had already announced that his team would carry out this sporting gesture.
The former Real Madrid midfielder also said he thought Madrid should do the same when they play at Camp Nou next week, when Barca will likely be double champions.
