Neymar nearly changed his mind and stayed at Barcelona but in the end left for PSG
Neymar Jr was involved in the biggest soap opera of the summer when he signed for PSG, leaving Barcelona, in the most expensive deal in the history of football. Months later, Dani Alves spoke in an interview with Le Parisien to explain the player's decision.
Now a team-mate of Ney's at PSG, Alves said: "I knew that Neymar wanted other things and that he had decided to leave Barcelona. Challenges and new things drive us. I told Neymar he was free to do it, to leave, but he started to doubt it when he went back to Barcelona."
Neymar returned to the squad in the summer for pre-season but eventually mvoed. "In that moment I thought we would not play together in a team that was not Barcelona, but in the end he came here and I am very happy," added Alves.
