The British press say Arsenal are keen on the German stopper

Ter Stegen recently penned a new deal at Barça and is happy where he is

Arsenal have joined the list of clubs who would like to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen. The Gunners are thinking of the German as an option in the future when they have to replace Petr Cech, who will turn 36 next May.

According to British newspaper 'The Daily Star', Arsenal want Ter Stegen, who has said on several occasions he's both happy at Barça and living in Barcelona. He renewed his contract recently until 2022 and his release clause is 180 million euros.

It seems, therefore, unlikely that Ter Stegen, who's having a great season, will leave Barça before his contract is up.

However, Arsenal, who also have Colombian goalkeeper David Ospina on their books, still look keen to at least ask the question as they study an long-term alternative to Cech, who joined the club from Chelsea.
